Running Running Running

Last week I started a 12 week training program for a 1/2 Marathon that I am running on May 3rd. Yesterday was my first official long run day. For those of you who know me it shouldn't come as a surprise to you that I typically run at least 25 miles a week therefore an eight mile run is not out of the ordinary.

This is my luck...about five miles into my run I realized my foot was going numb. My Plantar Fasciitis was acting up again!! This is something I had been struggling with for about 12+ months. I have been pain free for the last 7 months so I thought I was in the clear. Then when I got home I found that one of my toes was bleeding. And get this: I called my new doctor in Chico and she cannot see me until May 6th (three days after the race)!

I am only telling you this because I think it is kind of strange how I can run miles and miles for months and be pain free then on my first long run my body goes crazy! What is up with that??? Well if anything we know I won't win the race...Just kidding I will never win even if I am in the best shape of my life.

That totally stinks! I have to give you major props though. I am trying to learn to run and so I am adding 30 seconds onto my running spurt every day. I am up to 9 minutes! I know to you that is really lame but it is kicking my butt! Hope your foot gets better soon so you can still run in the race.

I don't know if this will translate well into the written word, but what I want to say is: Aaaaaagh!

Side note: Nicole, you should run the 5K that day!

I am sure Kerri will tell you the same, but you need to go and see alex. He will fix it. WE see so many patients who have the same problem and we help them. Good job on the running.
